Amid layoffs, Atlantic lottery head says $100M in business lost to offshore gambling sites

ALC estimates $100M is lost to unregulated websites.  Chris Keevill, president and CEO of the Atlantic Lottery Corporation says 'it's struggling to compete with unregulated, offshore digital gambling, and is hopes a shift in focus to online gaming will prevent an estimated $100 million in annual revenue from leaving Atlantic Canada.  Offshore gambling providers have taken advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to acquire more customers..

Nevada Gaming Commission Approves ‘First Step’ To Expand Cashless Wagering at Casinos

“It’s a monumental first step in cashless wagering systems,” Commissioner Steve Cohen, a Las Vegas-based attorney, said before voting for the changes.  The changes take effect immediately and will make it easier for casino players to transfer money electronically from bank accounts by using the technology.  'It’s going to be good for the industry. It’s going to be good for the patrons,” predicted Acting Commission Chairman John Moran, who is also an attorney in Nevada. He added that some of the changes will “enhance the gaming experience.”
